Lete Hanumanji is seen resting on the ancient parikrama route built on the Omkar mountain of the pilgrimage city of Omkareshwar in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The Parmar era temple built on the Omkar mountain is right in front of the Gauri Somnath temple. Patali is the temple of Hanuman. It is situated near Gauri Somnath Temple. The south facing idol of Hanuman located here is unique, Hanuman ji is seated here in a state of rest.
This statue of Hanuman enshrined in the temple is not only historical but also 600 years old. Which is about fifteen feet long. Located about seven feet below the ground, this huge 20 feet statue has the goddess of Hades buried under its left foot and Ahiravana under its right foot. Ram and Lakshman are adorned on the right shoulder and a mace is adorned on the left shoulder. The huge mace of Hanumanji is kept right near the statue. The most surprising thing here is that there is a goddess statue below the feet of Hanuman ji. Which naturally raises many questions. To which Bastar Bai, who takes care of the temple, answers in this way that Ahiravan had taken Ram and Lakshman captive and took them to the underworld.
Where he wanted to sacrifice Ram and Lakshman in front of the goddess of Hades. Then Lord Rama remembered his devotee Hanuman. Hanuman defeated Ahiravana and crushed the goddess of the underworld under his feet. After that the place where he rested. Today he is Pataleshwar Hanuman.
